PandoraBio is an early stage startup that empowers college students to manage their mental health journey by detecting early symptoms and guiding them to personalized campus resources. This case study outlines my process of elevating the VC pitch deck.

My role: Product Designer (creative direction, UX, UI, illustration, graphic design)

Time frame: 2 weeks spent on pitch deck

VC PITCH DECK

3 tactics to make PandoraBio’s VC pitch deck more memorable and captivating:

  • Refined branding

  • Integrated a User Journey

  • Clear Data Visualization & Graphics

BRANDING

See full case study on branding strategy here. This detection symbol is a recurring graphic that reinforces the company’s unique focus around early detection. I chose to tell their story through the dominant color purple, to add energy and youth to the presentation. I chose a warm off-white background rather than stark or cold white to avoid conveying a clinical or corporate feel.

Personifying Pandora as a “sidekick” gives investors the understanding that we understand the college market, and that we have put thought into the messaging for our product - see more on the branding strategy here.

USER JOURNEY

Evoking empathy through Leila - we take our investors through Leila’s personal journey with mental health to make the problem more relatable and the proposed solution more persuasive.

In creating “Leila’s Journey” and “How Pandora Works” below, the problem and solution is clear and grounded by human experience. The use of icons and simple graphics, paired with minimal wording helps investors understand this complex product without much explanation.

DATA VISUALIZATION

The clarity of data visualization, and color scheme consistency of all the information graphics strengthens PandoraBio’s brand identity as a data-driven company.

CONCLUSION

Ending on a hopeful note, and tying Leila back into the story at the end leaves investors with optimism and excitement for this product.
